Balša Gobović (b. 1985) is a fine art photographer and educator based in Montenegro.

His artistic practice unfolds between the precision of analog technique and the unpredictability of time and light.
Working primarily with large-format cameras and alternative photographic processes, he explores how identity, memory, and the passage of time reveal themselves through the act of seeing.

His portraits often emerge from long exposures — fifteen minutes or more — where presence becomes blurred, layered, and fluid.
Rather than seeking a single, defined image of a person, Gobović treats the photograph as a living space where multiple identities overlap and breathe.

This approach is most evident in his ongoing series Odrazi (Reflections), where the camera becomes both a witness and a participant, a mechanical counterpart to human intimacy.

Alongside his artistic work, Gobović teaches photography at the Faculty of Visual Arts in Podgorica, where he also serves as Associate Professor and Vice Dean for Teaching.
His research spans the relationship between analog and digital processes, the performative aspect of photography, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in contemporary image-making.

At the core of his practice lies a belief that photography is not merely about representation, but about transformation —
a process in which both the artist and the subject change in the act of creation.

Each photograph is a negotiation between what is seen and what resists being seen.
